In 2020 ReeceNichols and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City (RMHC-KC) launched a pilot Gold Key Project program. We exceeded our goal by more than 500%, raising $31,000 and providing 310 night stays at RMHC-KC for families, allowing them to stay closer to their children at a nearby hospital.
We are expanding our partnership to include more Ronald McDonald House Charities within the region, including:
- Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City
- Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks
- Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States
- Ronald McDonald House Charities of Wichita
As part of this groundbreaking new program, our ReeceNichols agents work tirelessly to find the perfect home for you. Each home purchased or sold with a Gold Key Agent allows a family with a hospitalized child to stay one night at a Ronald McDonald House Charities. So when you and your agent close on your forever home, you help a local family.
Why ReeceNichols + Ronald McDonald House Charities?
Since 1905, ReeceNichols has been dedicated to finding the perfect homes for families throughout Kansas and Missouri. The homebuying and selling process requires a thorough understanding of client needs, and ReeceNichols agents use their unique blend of expertise, loyalty and motivation to foster strong relationships and create success for the families they serve.
RMHC-KC was founded in 1981. Its mission is to reduce the burden of childhood illness on children and their families. When a sick child undergoes treatment at a Kansas City hospital, RMHC-KC provides their families with comfort and convenience in the form of housing and resources – allowing them to stay close to their kids while they receive medical care.
In 2021, ReeceNichols expanded the Gold Key Project to include four local Ronald McDonald House Charities. Our shared values and commitment to finding families homes makes for the perfect partnership, bringing hearts and homes together for a greater purpose. ReeceNichols and RMHC hope to make an even greater difference in our communities.

Macae and Michael Mickens were under extreme stress. Their sweet baby, Ryland, was born at 28 weeks and they had to deliver at a hospital nearly 3 hours from their home. This all would be a ton to handle alone, but on top of all of this she was arriving in the midst of a pandemic. For 7 weeks they stayed in hotels paid for by Ronald McDonald House and moved to the Houses for the remaining 2 weeks of Ryland's NICU stay. "The past 64 days would’ve been impossible without the help of our local Ronald McDonald House."
